About Me!

Hi and welcome to my blog. I've just caught the crafting bug again and am starting to create new things to share. I will post my creations here and hope that you enjoy them. Crafting is such a relaxing thing for me. I can just get lost in it and lose all track of time. Lucky for me I have 4 angels (my kids) that bring me right back to reality.I love to think of things for the holidays to share and love learning new things as well. Please feel free to leave comments and share your thoughts.

Altered Paint Cans

I love to create new designs for people.  My niece was having a baby shower and I decided to create a can to put the gift in.  I got my idea from the theme of the shower which was Giraffes, then I decided to incorporate the colors of the shower which were pink and brown.  I love the way the can came out.  The design was plain but very cute.  I used pink paper with white polk-a-dots on the top half and plain brown paper on the bottom half.  I found a wide wire ribbon that was pink with brown polk-a-dots and wrapped it around the can and tied it. For the top of the can, I used light pink paper and a brown sticker with a carriage on it and wrote the baby's name around the sticker.

Once the can was done, I decided to make a card that matched.  I used brown cardstock with 3 different patterns of paper and layered them on top of the brown.  I wrapped pink satin ribbon over it and tied it in a knott.  I used a pink paperclip that I twisted into an S shape and hung a small tag on it.  I stamped a giraffe on white cardstock and used copic markers to color it and layered it on a tan border.  I also created an envelope to put the card in so it would match the can.
